Seeking a highly skilled and experienced OT (Operational Technology) Security Manager who will manage OT security program for the enterprise. This critical role will be responsible for establishing a robust security framework for the operational technology environment, managing key OT security projects, and effectively communicating security risks to various stakeholders.
- Remote – potential onsite visit for onboarding in Denver, CO or Washington, DC
- Citizenship Requirements: Must be eligible to work remotely in the US
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in OT security principles, project management, and familiarity with specific technologies like Armis and ServiceNow CMDB, as well as a strong understanding of ICS and SCADA equipment. This position will be primarily remote, but will require an initial onsite visit for onboarding in either the Denver, Colorado or Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
Responsibilities:
- OT Security Program Development and Management:
- Develop, document, and manage the overall OT security program strategy, policies, standards, and procedures for the enterprise, in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Define the scope of the OT security program, considering all relevant operational technology assets and processes.
- Establish a roadmap for the implementation and continuous improvement of the OT security program.
- ICS Program and System Improvement:
- Analyze and provide recommended improvements to the ICS (Industrial Control Systems) programs and systems to meet industry standards and best practices.
- This includes recommendations related to cybersecurity functions, including risk management, vulnerability assessments, security assessments, strategy, and program development.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering within the OT environment.
- OT Security Project Oversight:
- Oversee and manage OT security projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
- Coordinate and collaborate effectively with project managers, the Manufacturing Automation team, and other relevant stakeholders remotely.
- Develop and maintain project plans, track progress, identify and mitigate risks, and manage changes.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the primary remote point of contact for OT security matters.
- Communicate OT security risks, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies to various audiences remotely, including the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), IT Leadership Team (ITLT), and Manufacturing Leadership.
- Prepare and deliver clear and concise weekly status updates to the ITLT remotely on the progress of OT security projects and key initiatives.
- Tailor communication style and content to the specific needs and understanding of different stakeholder groups through virtual meetings, email, and other remote communication tools.
- Technical Expertise:
- Leverage expert knowledge of Armis for asset discovery, vulnerability management, and threat detection within the OT environment remotely.
- Utilize deep understanding of ServiceNow CMDB (Configuration Management Database) remotely to ensure accurate and up-to-date visibility of OT assets and their configurations.
- Integrate Armis data and insights with ServiceNow CMDB remotely to enhance asset management and security posture.
- Stay current with emerging OT security threats, technologies, and best practices through online resources and virtual training.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with the IT security team remotely to ensure alignment between IT and OT security strategies.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Automation team remotely to understand their processes and integrate security considerations into their workflows through virtual meetings and collaboration platforms.
- Engage with other departments and stakeholders remotely as needed to support the implementation and maintenance of the OT security program.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a significant focus on Operational Technology (OT) security.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing OT security programs and frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, IEC 62443) remotely.
- Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams remotely.
- Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with Armis.
- Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, specifically in the context of OT asset management.
- Excellent remote communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership, through virtual platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a remote work environment.
- Understanding of industrial control systems (ICS) and manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of various vendors and types of Industrial Control System (ICS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
- Willingness and ability to travel to either the Denver, Colorado or Washington D.C. metropolitan area for an initial onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as GICSP, GRID, CISSP-ISSAP, or equivalent.
- Experience with other OT security tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance standards for OT environments (e.g., NERC CIP).
- Experience working effectively in a remote team environment.
